Convincing UFO Response

Continuing the Convincing of UFOs

… a convincing response to Dr. Joeseph Burkes article titled ‘

advice - thoughtAh, the photo from the first IUFOC poster back in 1991. It was a grand event in Tucson, a collaboration initiated by Retired Col. Wendelle Stevens, Bob Brown and Bob Dean (I think)… with a little help from Ted Loman and Jim Dilletoso. Riding down from Phoenix was the first time I’d ever been in a limousine, courtesy of Roy Haddix who was a long-time friend of Jim’s. These guys were investigators and thinkers, hoping to share their passion and purpose – disclosure and exposure of VIPs (Veritable Intelligence Patterns) and UFOs to the public.

I agree with you about the blinds coming down and the glossy eyes, Joseph, but for different reasons. The subject material, after the initial fascination wears off, causes one to have to think deeply about their belief systems, concepts of reality and personal relationships in the world. Thinking deeply is not a comfortable place and many, if not most, run from the invitation. I’ve even seen it in classrooms where I’ve challenged students to think deeper by applying the Socratic method.

People tend to want to be told how, what and who to do with no accountability and responsibility for their own thinking or acting. Their eyes are dull, their minds are chaotic and their capacity for intelligent conversation is challenged. The shades are drawn and nobody is home. The deer in the headlights is only moved by the deflection of pointed questions and the inability to say, “I don’t know,” without having to defend some position. The wise are doubters, willing to put their truth on the chopping block at any given moment.

It appears that even those deeply invested in the ufology field also have that limitation at certain points where their previous concepts and/or professions of understanding are threatened. They can quite confidently go up to the edge of the cliff, only to run back to the comfort of the past prejudicial and psychological denials when threaten with new information. These actions are most often toward experiencers who present possibilities that cause them to consider what one might call quantum concepts within the mental frameworks of established ufological authority.

Now the past attempts at communicating concepts through ‘contactee’ interviews, statements and writings have often fallen short of the articulation and tone of believability. Scott Mendelker’s work is an example. The interviewers of contactees presented nearly a ‘lost in space’ perception due to the style and words used in their individual articulations. Striving to be considerate of the audience and presenting information so that it is palatable as well as understandable is something authors don’t always consider.

Perhaps because of that early miscommunication, so many contactees are frustrated with the lack of attention paid to the ‘real’ things that are going on above and beyond the standard ufology-focused consideration and events. We’ve moved on from phenomena, sightings and even in some cases the need for disclosure. There has been very little attention paid to experiencers. It’s a subject that has still not garnered the deserved attention it needs, withholding what I think you’ll agree is pertinent information necessary for our beneficial and effective personal and planetary evolution.

Grant’s recognition of the cycles of patterns in ufological behavior appear to be leading to an even greater awareness of not only interactions, but a kind of bio-spiritual evolutionary process that may indeed include those who have been introduced to the population as ‘hybrids’ of sorts. They [hybrids] appear to have little knowledge of who they are until the natural cycles of maturity and the internal questions of connection and service begin to surface. If you were one of them, who would you turn to for help in understanding what was happening?

It’s no longer just ‘wonders in the sky’… it’s here and now, right in front of us. How we will negotiate with that potential or ‘truth’ is yet to be seen. FREE has begun that process with their surveys and promotion of a new focus on experiencers’ encounters and collective information. The new sciences, both material and psycho-spiritual, are soon to advance our planet as many of us believe possible, toward harmony among people and planet with the open interaction with our interstellar relatives. That’s what I’m hoping for anyway.

Thanks for your vigilance, Joe and especially to Rey Hernandez and Dr. Edgar Mitchell for continuing to move forward with consideration and mindfulness.

Convincing People about UFOs?

ufo congress 1991WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO CONVINCE PEOPLE THAT UFOs ARE IMPORTANT?

Joseph Burkes MD 2014

UFO historian Richard Dolan has described the initial reaction of many people to his passionate interest in the subject. They express interest, might even describe something they saw on TV concerning the phenomenon and then after a few minutes of his well informed explanation, their eyes gloss over and they are clearly bored. What about convincing people about UFOs?

THE ROLE OF AUTHORITY FIGURES

Yes opinion polls indicate the public is interested in UFOs, advertising executives have long known this, but the fascination is for most part quite superficial. Why is this? I suspect partly because of the massive denial of authority figures that say, “there is nothing to it.”

After all, the world is so complex; we rely on authorities to put to use vast amounts of data to make what we hope are reasonable decisions. Most people have little understanding of the technological “miracles” that science has achieved, but they are grateful and trust the devices, like planes, autos and computers to work reliably.

Needing to trust leaders I suspect might be built into our biology. For a million years before civilization was established, hunter-gatherers worked in small groups to survive. Leadership was a question of life and death and those clans that had the best leaders, the shamen and sha-women that knew how best to kill the animals or find the healing herbs and deliver the babies, played a critical role in survival. So we the people have a strong tendency to be,”we the sheeple.”

LINKING UFOs TO SOLUTIONS FOR MAJOR PROBLEMS

For the UFO question to take on special importance in the popular imagination it will need to be transformed from an entertaining diversion and become a way of addressing the seemingly insurmountable problems our planet is facing. This is already being attempted by those within the UFO community that discuss the possibility of downloading into our technological culture the secrets of the energy propulsion systems of flying saucers. So-called “free energy” in one fell swoop could eliminate poverty and pollution, thus possibly reversing global warming and ending world hunger.

Of course in order for the so-called ET’s to give us such devices they might understandably insist on a peaceful transformation of our planet to replace what UFOlogist Stanton Friedman has called our perpetual state of “tribal warfare.” This is going to be a hard sell when the mass media and academia in service to their corporate masters repeatedly insist, “There is nothing to it.”

HE WHO PAYS THE PIPER CALLS THE TUNE

From the control groups’ point of view, those of the clandestine forces determined to keep a lid on the UFO issue, an important strategy would be to recruit authority figures to block any significant discussion of flying saucers. Opinion makers who step out of line find that their access to funding cut off. This is all done behind the scenes and is quite effective in my opinion.

In the USA the National Academy of Sciences has made it perfectly clear that UFO studies are not part of the “legitimate” agenda for professional science. Scientists that step out of line will find themselves unable to secure grants thus ending their careers.

In broadcast journalism, talk show hosts that might attempt to inform the public in a detailed way, would find themselves without corporate sponsors. The major newspapers are controlled through their editorial boards that in turn are dependent on corporate sponsors to continue publishing.

This analysis is not a conspiracy theory. I describe the way power works. In the former Soviet Union it was the political dictatorship of the Communist Party that attempted to regulate almost every aspect of people’s lives. That social experiment failed miserably. In the West however social control is far more sophisticated, decentralized and uses the knowledge of social psychology called “public relations” to effectively manipulate the masses.

RESISTANCE TO CHANGE ALSO COMES FROM WITHIN

On the individual level our tendency to identify with our thoughts leads to a profound attachments to old ideas. This resistance to changing one’s point of view flows from the ego itself. People strive to maintain their religion, political ideology, or moral customs to the point where some would even are kill to maintain them. Just look at the present situation in Syria, or at the millions killed centuries ago during the Protestant Reformation in Europe.

So what will it take to change mass public opinion on the flying saucer question? Well mostly it depends on what UFO intelligence chooses to do. If “they” continue the present pattern of interactions, millions of individual sightings yearly, interspersed with occasional massive waves, I imagine that there will be opportunities to slowly build public awareness by a responsible program of education.

RESPONSIBLE PROGRAM OF PUBLIC EDUCATION

This will require UFO enthusiasts to discipline the crazies in our midst, think creatively and most importantly of all build stable, well-financed organizations to carry out the work. All this will need to be done in the face of a powerful opposition of groups that has great experience in controlling public opinion, the economy and their political operatives who run governments.

“TURNING PAGES IN A PLAY BOOK

Can we trust UFO intelligence to follow what we imagine is their existing “game plan?” I suppose not. After all we should never assume that we can think like the so-called “aliens.” The ever-changing pattern of interactions as pointed out by UFO researcher Grant Cameron appears to be as if they are turning the pages of a “play book” with Men in Black in the 1960s, so called “abductions” in the 70s, crop circles in the 80s and continued mental interactions with millions of experiencers many of whom are instilled with a sense of mission and are striving to convince their fellow Earthlings that we should look up and accept what our “lying eyes” are seeing.

My guess is that UFO intelligence will present us with infinitely creative new ways of waking us up from our collective stupor concerning their “wonders in the sky.” I am of the opinion that their presence is non-harmful and very likely to be beneficial to mankind. Bringing others to this hopeful perspective I imagine is a challenge that UFO activists will continue to face for some time.

Legends from the Sky

Promo Description: A Native American Veteran, burdened by survivor’s guilt after a disastrous military tour, is forced to search for his missing grandfather after his ancestral land is mysteriously taken over by an unknown federal organization.

The movie had its World Debut at the Gila River Wild Horse Pass Casino in the Ovations Room just last night. The director, Travis Holt Hamilton, and most of the cast were on hand for the event. I spoke with Travis briefly beforehand and his unpretentious demeanor was refreshing. He is a hard-working and dedicated professional who decided to explore something few have done, combining a respect for indigenous ways while exploring a topic that is as confusing as it is rife with disinformation today.

The movie itself was well written and directed; the production staff should be proud of such anLegends accomplishment as well. There were only minor drags in the dialog from time to time. Seriously, though, how do you really bridge the worlds of experiencers and ‘normal’ folk in any culture? Have you ever tried to write a movie script or screenplay. It is certainly not easy. Travis and Jose Silerio deserve some great respect for venturing into the Ufology territory, let alone wrapping it into a Native American culture and landscape.

I’d highly recommend checking out this film and let your imagination run as to how it relates to the current them in this century and the role the indigenous folk play in it. Perhaps there are some symbols and people who represent them that are ready to appear. Who knows, Travis may take this film to another level in a sequel that takes one deeper into Native culture with a little sci-fi spin. This film would certainly lend itself to another venture. The screening schedule is below the trailer that is resident on YouTube that follows.

Maybe we can encourage Travis to take another step toward Native culture and include the Hopi in his next film. There is a well-known rock formation that they call the ‘landing place’ where thousands of ancient petroglyphs line the rock face just outside the area. They, too, have their legends of ‘star people’ that are worth investigating further. If you ever want to go there yourself, reach out to the curator. You’ll need a referral to get a Hopi guide to take you there. Outsiders aren’t welcome without one.

New Hope for Contactees/Experiencers

New Hope for Contactees

FREE-WPThere is a groundswell of activity on an entirely different level than traditional ufological research, something that has been ever-present yet kept out of the limelight for various reasons. Those reasons vary from possible incredulity to outright denial of the possibility, but let’s face it folks, we’re not alone and the communication circuits have been open for a long time.

Scott Mandelker’s book From Elsewhere: Being ET in America brought out many such ‘contactees’ and their experiences. Their ability to communicate experiences and share the ‘message’ from others was often poorly articulated and, quite frankly, sounded like new-agey gobbledigook most of the time. So, how could anyone really take them seriously, huh? Today, nearly 30 years later the scene is much different.

The growing numbers of ‘contactee’ experience now includes professional people across nearly every industry imaginable, including the realms of astro- and quantum physics. Well respected academicians and researches are discovering that there is much more to the story than meets the proverbial eye (third or otherwise) and the notion of an expanded consciousness capable of perceiving into other realms is tantamount to the new discoveries.

If you’ve had experiences and would like to participate in the research and sharing amongst fellow contactees, please explore the survey hosted on the FREE Website.

Foundation for Research into Extraterrestrial Encounters

We at FREE, the Foundation for Research into Extraterrestrial Encounters, are undertaking the first ever comprehensive ACADEMIC research project on the ET Contact Phenomena–   The FREE Experiencer Research Project.   Our study will focus on individuals who have had any type of “Contact” with ETs, who we are defining as a “Non-Human Intelligent Being”, but the primary focus will be on UFO related ET contact.

FREE was established with the insistence and guidance of Dr. Edgar Mitchell, the 6th man on the moon, and Dr. Rudy Schild, Emeritus Professor of Astro-Physics at Harvard University.  Both are founding members of FREE’s Board of Advisors.

No one has ever attempted this type of study on Experiencers before– it will be the first comprehensive ACADEMIC study on the ET contact phenomena involving a series of two surveys and a formal interview.  Phase 1 is our initial survey that is already embedded in our website.  A more extensive survey, our Phase 2 survey, will be provided to those individuals that choose to participate in our formal interviews.  The formal interview will be the Phase 3 component of our study.

The FREE Experiencer Research Project is being supervised by 2 retired Professors of Psychology–   Dr. Jon Klimo, the world’s leading expert on the so called “Paranormal” phenomena, and Dr. Leo Sprinkle, the pioneer in the research field of “ET Contact” who published his first article on this subject in 1962.  By the way, both Dr. Klimo and Dr. Sprinkle are “Experiencers”.

Dr. Klimo is the Chair of our research project.  Dr. Klimo has chaired over 250 Ph.D. dissertations, 75 of them on the topic of the “paranormal”.  Dr. Klimo has also taught “Research Methodology” for over 40 years.

Other members of our research project are: Mary Rodwell, Whitley Strieber, Barbara Lamb, Ralph Steiner, Kathleen Marden, Denise Stoner, Giorgio Piacenza, Dr. Joe Lewels, Dr. Michael Melton, Chase Kloetzke, and several other members. This is the cream of the crop when it comes “ET Contact Researchers”.  Most of these individuals have worked with “Experiences” for over 25 years.

The ET Contact Phenomena comes in “all flavors and colors”– some Experiencers perceive their experiences as extremely positive while some as extremely negative, and so many in between.  FREE does not take any position regarding what might be the “ET Agenda”.  We might have our own personal individual hypothesis and beliefs, but as an organization we stand neutral on the ET Agenda issue.  The ET Contact Phenomena is extremely complex and we agree with Einstein when he said: Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods.

ANONYMITY: As a participant for our 2 surveys and formal interview, you have a choice to Rey and Dr. Mitchell, remain “ANONYMOUS”. There will be no way for us to find out who you are and where you live if you wish not to identify yourself.

Please inform all “Experiencer”, individuals that have had any type of “Contact” with an ET (a “Non-Human Intelligent Being”), about our FREE Experiencer Research Project and encourage them to take our initial survey that is located in our website.

UFOlogyPRSS Curator, Zen Benefiel, will be hosting Co-Founder Rey Hernandez during the 2015 IUFOC so look for us at the event and absolutely feel FREE to engage. Reach out to either one of us if you would like to schedule some time while at the event.

Should you have any question about our research project please send us an email to:  FREE@EXPERIENCER.CO
