MECHANISMS OF CONTACT – VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE OF THE SECOND KIND

Joseph Burkes MD 2017

Mechanisms of Contact – Virtual Experiences of the Second Kind

Cases in the literature that support the Virtual Experience Theory, Part Two of Two Parts.
A Virtual Experience of the Second Kind (VE-2) is a real time full sensory technology created illusion that is popularly described as “Virtual Reality,” and is portrayed in the popular sci-fi film “The Matrix.”

The following is a synopsis of Chapter 3 of “Masquerade of Angels”, by Karla Turner, Ph.D. with Ted Rice, Kelt Works 1994. This narrative demonstrates how UFO Intelligence can use psychotronic technology to create a Virtual Experience of the Second Kind.

A MASQUERADE OF ANGELS

Ted Rice was a bank worker and part time psychic. He crew up in the backwaters of Alabama in the 1950s and attended college in Tuscaloosa. Later he moved to work in Shreveport Louisiana. A woman by the name of Marie Jackson trained him in psychic development and brought him into a spiritualist association. By 1990 he was no longer active in the spiritualist movement but still maintained his friendship with Marie who was living in Florida. While staying overnight at Ted’s mobile home Marie reported having a bizarre experience.

THE WALLS OF THE HOUSE DISAPPEARED AND MARIE COULD SEE OUTSIDE

According to Karla Turner’s account, Ted was lying down in his bedroom while Marie was reading in another part of his house. Marie roused Ted and informed him the following,

“ ‘I was reading in bed,’ Marie told him, ‘still pacing, and don’t feel like I drifted off to sleep. I raised up in the bed and looked around, and suddenly all the walls in the trailer just, just disappeared!’… ‘I could see outside. I could see from one end of the trailer to the other, and I could see all the way down into your bedroom. The walls were just gone!… I saw the two strangest spirits I’ve ever seen in my life! They came right through where the wall should be, and they walked up and started trying to take me outside.’ ’’

According to Dr. Turner’s narrative Marie vigorously protested to the “small grayish beings” that subsequently left her alone.

Chapter Five of “Masquerade of Angels” contains one of the remarkable contact experiences ever described in the UFO literature. Its importance should not be underestimated because if accurate, it reveals the absolutely tremendous psychic capability of non-human intelligence to create illusion. Dr. Turner’s account raises disturbing questions for the entire UFO research community and challenges some of the most cherished notions of the saucer subculture about the nature of CE-3s and CE-4s.

AN EXPERIENCER IS ENVELOPED BY A BLUE GLOW WITH LIGHTNING TRAILS

Soon after Marie’s encounter in Ted’s mobile home, he traveled to visit her in Florida. Another masquerade of angels = mechanisms contact - virtual experiences second kindgood friend of Marie’s called Amelia Reynolds was also visiting her. After several hours of conversation the three retired for the night. Ted was assigned to the bedroom down the hall. Marie and Amelia slept in twin beds in a room on the other side of the house.

In the middle of the night Marie was reportedly awakened by Amelia. She told Marie that she could hear a low flying helicopter flying. Marie reportedly heard no such sound.

Amelia suddenly froze while staring up at the ceiling. According to the narrative Amelia told Marie that she was able to view the copter as if the ceiling and roof had completely disappeared.

‘I’m not asleep.’ Amelia protested, raising her head from the pillow. Her eyes still gazed upwards. ‘I swear to you. I can see a helicopter right up there! By that big tree with all the leaves. I see the front of the thing, it’s rounded and the legs are folded underneath.’

‘Well, why can’t I see it, then?’ Marie asked, exasperated. ‘I don’t know. Amelia replied.’ “A bluish glow then reportedly materialized around Amelia while she sat up in bed. She told Marie that she felt paralyzed and was unable to move despite Marie’s urgings to “Get out of there!”

Amelia then described the appearance in the bedroom of two non-human beings, one tall green and lizard like, the other shorter and blue-black in color. Marie told Amelia that she did not see them and shouted for Ted to come and help.

According to Dr Turner’s account Ted saw a “blue glow” as he approached the bedroom. It was “emanating from the open doorway.” Dr Karla Turner’s narrative continues.

“Inside, Marie had circled around the room and was waiting for him, pressed back against the farthest wall from where Amelia lay motionless, enveloped in the brilliant light. Ted stepped in uncertainly and then stopped dead in his tracks, staring.”… They inched closer to the bed, still keeping a healthy distance from the blue glow that was now filled with tiny, rapid explosions of lightning trails. “ Marie yelled at Amelia to “Get out of there.”

Karla Turner’s remarkable account continues with Amelia complaining that she could hardly hear Marie. Ted inquired if Amelia was being hurt in anyway. Her response was that she was not. Ted counseled Marie that they should not take any drastic action. “We don’t know what might happen if we try to pull her out of that energy field….” The encounter came to a close when the blue light suddenly flashed off.

All during the experience, neither Marie nor Ted could hear or see the beings and the helicopter that Amelia reported seeing. She later reported not being aware of the bluish sphere of light that both Ted and Marie had reportedly witnessed.

PSYCHOTRONIC TECHNOLOGY OF THE HIGHEST FORM

What is so remarkable about this narrative is that it describes two witnesses that allegedly were able to observe a kind of “virtual reality” process at very close range. If the encounter truly unfolded as described in the “Masquerade of Angels,” perhaps we have been given a very rare glimpse at the mechanism employed to stage some of the “high strangeness” interactions that are being labeled “alien abductions.”

Ted Rice and Marie Jackson were in full psychomotor control of their bodies when they observed Marie actively hallucinating. The presence of the blue light, and lightning like flashes within the orb that surrounded Amelia, all point to some kind of advanced technology that took control of her mental processes by creating a very convincing illusion. Thus we are dealing with an intelligence that can not only simulate reality for the chosen target individual, but can also stage the encounter under circumstances allowing others to closely witness the event.

As we see from the events described in “Masquerade of Angels”, the intelligence responsible for these bizarre encounters may have the capability to produce a kind of “virtual reality,” an altered state of consciousness that an experiencer might not be unable to distinguish from every day-run-of-the-mill reality.

The entire book “Masquerade of Angels” by Dr. Karla Turner is available to read on line as a pdf file by googling the phrase.

Cosmic Conundrum – Who Am I?

Who are you? Really… Who are you? This workbook is an expository guide to facilitate multidimensional awareness. Are you a spiritual being having a human experience? Would you like to wake up the human to the spiritual experience? A point of perspection (introspection/perception) dances in the balance of the seer’s vision.

Have you suffered from the limited experiences and thinking of others? Is it possible that you might have galactic origins from elsewhere in the Milky Way?

Many are awakening to the potential of galactic citizenry and/or spiritual connectedness beyond the notion of reincarnation. I can help you engage contact experiences and garner opportunities for developing your personal abilities and/or ‘gifts.’

This psychospiritual coursework is designed to bridge worlds, build relationships across dimensions and transform lives. What you may think you know about extraterrestrials, guardian angels and spiritual beings will be challenged as you explore the pages of this book.

Points of view differ regarding our origins and the development of human beings through their ‘dominion’ on earth. What if there was more to the story that we haven’t even explored yet because we’ve been too terrestrially focused in our ‘outer’ living environment? What is your natural state of being? Is there more? Would you like to find out?

Clearing the cobwebs out of the soular mind begins with questioning the very foundation of one’s belief system. It doesn’t hurt at all and it does lead to deeper understanding. This path is not for the timid, but your courage will definitely be rewarded.

A great companion book is StuBBing My TOE on Purpose – A Seminal View of Consciousness, Cosmology and the Congruence of Science and Spirituality, available on Amazon and CreateSpace.

Author Zen Benefiel offers a healthy dose of spiritual wisdom for an “out-of-this-world” reader experience. Some dynamics which make this book a helpful guide are the author’s out-of-body experiences, his education and unique intelligence, combined with (but not limited to) an aptitude for research, diverse content synthesis and organization, complete with workbook opportunities for reflection on the provided material.

Zen embraces psychological, scientific, intuitive and mystical explanations, offering practical exercises for meditation, releasing emotional blockages, mentorship, deepening the experience of “flow,” and more. Where relevant, Zen gives simple and effective definitions of spiritual terms for comprehension, and methodical processes for readers to achieve similar results with the suggested exercises. The author’s knowledge of mental-emotional transformational methodologies makes for well-explored and deeply penetrating lessons on the self-help topics.

Woven by the common thread of his mystical experiences, Zen continually provides insightful logic regarding the ultimately inevitable connections among science and spirituality, connecting within, and galactic citizenry. Meaningful personal stories from the author’s physical life experience are steeped in wisdom. That said; the author’s emotional vulnerability is a great asset to humanizing the mystical experiences he lives out.

Zen’s authentic sharing creates a good foundation for us (the readers) to contemplate and realize the unique reality to which we have embraced and have been exposed. The book reveals compelling evidence that we can each go beyond our normal waking consciousness to connect in higher and finer ways. The material provided ties into an overall cosmic picture, complex enough to stretch our ideas of reality and cosmic responsibility while, at the same time, practical enough to not lose accessibility in the lessons offered.

Ethereal experiences are occasionally scoffed at due to popular misconceptions of an ethereal person’s resulting incongruence with normal reality (aka, “airy-fairy”). However, sound reasoning and pragmatic advice ensure that readers like us can learn from the offerings even if we aren’t able to relate the material in its entirety. For example, Zen offers practical guidance on the most basic and often overlooked necessity of balancing and resolving our emotions. Since such healthy (and practical) behaviors aren’t yet common sense for mankind, we could clearly argue that not only is a person’s reality highly relative to the beholder, but reality is also highly relative to how many people are beholding it. In other words, common sense is relative to what a group considers common. Even then, a high commonality doesn’t necessarily indicate truth.

The book finishes with a long anticipated, full-blown explanation of the author’s involvement with the Ashtar Command and galactic citizenry at large. It completes with thought-provoking inquiries that are artfully designed, not to coerce, but to make the reader ponder their own spiritual and galactic responsibilities. At minimum, the existing platform from which the author invites the reader to make positive considerations for spiritual living is a love-based one. If you are a fan of the Ashtar Command and the Celestial Alliances, you’ll like this book even better. Regardless of what you believe or experience, this versatile book can be of benefit to you.

Oldies But Goodies in Ufology

Has Anything Really Changed?

So many years ago Mike Wallace interviewed Donald Keyhoe about UFOs and Government coverups. The recommendations of the original focus group to study the UFO phenomena was to reveal everything that had been found to date to the public, then move forward with continued and deeper investigation of the phenomena. Listen in…

Only a short time later…

George Van Tassel, an airport operator and businessman, was interviewed about his contact with ‘others’ in 1964. So, Donald’s reluctance to discuss the ‘contactee’ aspects of the UFO phenomena in his interview, although some had indeed happened, is ‘trumped’ by these experiences of Mr. Van Tassel.

A decade or so later…

The Brits have been a leader, of sorts, in pretty much everything that involved global expansion. They’ve been doing it for centuries, so it is only logical that the next event was aimed at them. Well, it was a British television station that was interrupted with an important message from an off-planet source.

What have we learned?

The original recommendation to share the information with the public has still not been honored, the military as tight-lipped as ever. It makes it easier for folks to create stories and find an audience in those who delight in any information, true or false. Nonetheless, the Disclosure Movement is continuing to grow through the efforts of Bassett and Greer among others…

There seems to be a tremendous upsurge in the idea that disclosure isn’t necessary. There are enough folks who either claim contact experiences or have evidence enough in how they frame their own questions of incredulity that the believability factor is higher than usual. The Dr. Edgar Mitchell Foundation for Research in Extraterrestrial Encounters even has anonymous surveys that provide the most incredible credible information available about contact experiences.

Perhaps in the next few years or so the acceptability of contact experiences will grow enough to be included in the major ufology gatherings around the world. Some at least have ‘contactee’ opportunities for sharing, but they seem to be more about hypnotherapy needs than direct contact. A Close Encounter of the Third Kind with Love.

Joseph Burkes MD 2015

It has been said that consciousness is the “golden thread” that ties us to UFO intelligence. After all if the ET hypothesis is correct and UFOs are an extraterrestrial manifestation, then we are going to be very different from them. We don’t share a common history, language or biological evolution, but what both humans and ETs have in common is that we are awake and are aware of that wakefulness.

Perhaps we can share states of being that come from that clear quiet place that we call consciousness itself. For those of us who have met the visitors face to face, there exists the possibility of sharing a sense of peace or joy. Although it may sound corny, as this narrative suggests we may also be able to communicate with, and share love.

“COMING OUT” OF THE UFO CLOSET

My initial enthusiastic support for CSETI ‘s contact efforts led me to a rather daring action. Some would call it foolish. I decided to set up a CSETI information booth at the American Public Health Association’s annual meeting held in Washington DC in November of 1992. I was accompanied by my medical group partner “Dr. Daniel.” He was in our Los Angeles CSETI CE-5 Initiative Working Group.

The APHA’s meeting draws about 10,000 health professionals whose political views are more to the left than mainstream medicine’s views. The APHA has historically championed the health rights of women, ethic minorities and workers. During the first few years of my medical career I had actively participated in the Occupational Health and Safety section of the APHA. In 1979 I was co-founder of the Los Angeles Committee on Occupational Safety and Health, a coalition of health care and legal professionals that endeavored through education and advocacy to make the workplace safer.

WORKING THE CROWD

At a beautiful new convention center in the nation’s capital, under a royal blue banner embroidered with the slogan, “ One Universe, One People!” Daniel and I “worked” the conference participants. A small TV monitor played dramatic footage of UFOs, while I called out to passersby, “Would you like to see a UFO video?” Apparently quite a few did, over 250 nurses, doctors and administrators watched the film clips and chatted with us during the 3-day conference. About forty signed up for more information and the bravest shared their personal stories of sightings and other contact experiences.

A CLOSE ENCOUNTER OF THE THIRD KIND WITH LOVE

A Ph.D. professor of nursing gave the most impressive report to me. From her convention badge I identified her as a faculty member from a major university. She watched the videos for a few minutes and then allowed me to interview her about her personal contact experience.

Some 7 years before she reportedly had a Close Encounter of the Third Kind. After nightfall while camping with her fiancée, her tent was filled with a very bright light. All around the campsite she could hear footsteps. Apparently from prior encounters she immediately realized that she was having a contact experience. The professor reported not being able to move but was fully awake. She could not stir her friend that was sound asleep. One humanoid stuck his head into the tent. By her description the being was the typical so called “Gray,” big head with wrap around eyes. My nursing colleague told me that she was happily excited and frightened at the same time.

The being quickly retreated but she could see his shadow and those of several others on the walls of her tent that was illuminated by the campfire light. She told me that she sent out the thought, “ I love you.” In a flash she felt a forceful burst of electric type energy. The sensation surged through her body from the top of her head down to the tip of her toes. The beings left her campsite and the encounter was over.

There are on the exhibit floor, under the bright lights with hundreds of booths and thousands of participants around us, she had described the experience simply, matter of fact, with just a touch of amazement. I was a perfect stranger to her and yet she was willing to share her recollections of an intimate contact with what she believed were non-human beings. I described to her the ambitious goals of CSETI’s CE-5 Initiative. She listened politely but chose not to sign up for more information. After all she was a professor at a major university and the notoriety of being a contact experiencer might cause her considerable harm. She wished me well in my crusade and walked away, disappearing into the crowd.

About the author: Joseph Burkes MD volunteered as a Working Group Coordinator for the CE-5 Initiative from 1992 to 1998. He has continued to study the flying saucer phenomenon working with MUFON and the Peruvian contact network now called Rahma. He is co-author of the book “Paths to Contact” edited by Jeff Becker. Dr Burkes retired from the Southern California Permanente Medical Group after thirty years service in 2008. He is a board certified internal medicine physician and is licensed to practice in California.

Compatible History

and response from the curator….

Dr. Burkes knows far too well that the consciousness we call ET is so connected to what we also call ‘unconditional love’ that it seems surreptitious that others would engage in fear-based conspiracy theories, imho. The frequency response of such deep levels of love can initially feel so intense that they indeed are a bit frightening; the unfamiliar sense of being totally and unconditionally ‘loved’ by high-frequency beings.

We ‘see’ them in many ways, from humanoid-looking (most appeasing) to reptilian (most challenging) and even non-bipedal creatures as well. It’s been said that we/they present themselves according to the viewer’s capacity or willingness to see. A lot of the current focus, though, is still on the lower vibratory realms, the research on encounters, sightings and such. Bridging the professional realms, like Joe did with the APHA, is critical and I believe mandatory today.

International Association for Near Death Studies

I had the opportunity to do the same a few years ago, with the International Association for Near-Death Studies. I applied for a presentation spot at their 2010 annual conference in Denver and got the nod, unexpectedly. After some scheduling rearrangements (initially having an hour, then a half-hour, then being put on a panel with two others and given 20 minutes as I stepped on stage) I felt a little uncomfortable with such demands that I felt were a bit unprofessional. Still, I was there and on stage.

I had a feeling things were going to go awry, so I didn’t put my powerpoint together until during the speaker just before us. It turned out to be perfectly timed… I came in just over the 20 minutes they allotted. During my presentation to the clinicians and medical professionals I introduced the notion of how the OBE’s, NDEs and STEs were all related and easily lended themselves to accessing what we call ETs and more, including cosmic consciousness.

I noticed some shades drawn with some of the audience but one individual in particular who was a long standing expert in the field, P.M. Atwater, was smiling from ear to ear and nodding continuously as I broached the delicate bridge. I knew I was going to hedge the edge of acceptability with this particular crowd, yet afterward there were several who congratulated me on bridging those worlds. No one to date had attempted to do so at the IANDS annual events.

Btw, I wasn’t invited back, either. 🙁 Still, the information was shared. Having multiple close encounters throughout my life has been both a blessing and a curse. I’m blessed with a greater understanding of the ‘non-humans;’ their perspective on universal law and order. I’m cursed with the misunderstanding and projections of others who are unable to hear from within.

Keep up the great work, Joe!

The Good Old Days

A View from the Bleachers

Not that it really matters, but I’ve been watching the field of Ufology develop since my introduction as Bruce to Jim Delittoso in the late 80s. Zen hadn’t happened yet; still a few years away. Until then, I’d been relatively free of public engagement, let alone discussion of my experiences. I felt a bit pensive and yet willing to take some chances.

I was pulled in to the ‘scene’ as my curiosity in Jim’s work and all the folks that showed up at Village Labs we piqued, to say the least. Until then, I was a rather naive and trusting sort from rural Indiana. Granted I had started early with regular visits to the orange cigar-shaped cloud, so the scene was not unfamiliar with it’s stories and tales. Michael Tanner and Jim became regular visits and delivering a beautiful and brilliant package to Jim sure helped. When I introduced Susan to Jim, Ufaux was soon launched with Jerry Wills on bass, Susan on drums and Jim on keyboards.

Somewhat surreptitiously and yet willingly I dove into the field, attended Tim Beckley’s Aliencoming-together and New Age Agenda expos in Phoenix while working with the New Age Alliance to put on one of the first large New Age events at the Biltmore Resort. Jerry Wills introduced us as well. I traveled to Sedona a few times, too, where I met Dr. Frank Stranges and Wes Bateman at a gathering and spent many hours in conversations with each.

At the time I was alone and fresh out of a divorce, heart-broken and searching for self. Al Bielek, unknown to me at the time, called and invited me out to lunch one day. It made for a skeptical optimist, determined to compare experiences with lofty tales of extraterrestrial encounters. Having some good ears to listen and reflect made a big difference to this seeker of the unusual and weird running alongside a very normal if not practical life of recovery from the loss of my family.

Those events and a television show gave me an opportunity afforded few, and the cursory wounds healed quickly. I was aware of the invisible hand and a few handlers, too. A few years later I road in one of Roy Haddix’s limos with Alicia Greig to Tucson and the first International UFO Congress, arranged by Jim.  I’d met Wendelle Stephens at the Lab and Bob Dean for the first time at the event with Ted Loman, Dave Thompson and Ken Lilgegren as part of the production crew. Miriam Delicado and Travis Walton were there as well.

Dave, Jim, Miriam, Travis and I had a short and sweet reunion at the last IUFOC on the patio just before the awards dinner. Relationships forged early in the coming of age of Ufology weather many storms; trials and tribulations that seem to be the norm among the cohorts and converts. The sad thing is that competition has replaced cooperation and collaboration as folks turned the environment into profit centers that bring out undesirable influencers, imho.

nester

Ann Fogg, Nester Night Owl

Since those early times I’ve had the honor of meeting some very respectable people in the field. I was even fortunate enough to be the logistical producer for the Prophets Conference in 1997. The Phoenix Lights had happened earlier, and the Labs were interview central. Background conversations were plentiful as I had a great crew and could easily move about the cabin once the event began. Ann Fogg and Pieter Oosthuizen were great problems solvers and problems were few.

The only challenge was when we weren’t fast enough bicycling the A/V equipment and David Icke had to wait. I got an earful for that I didn’t expect, left a bad taste. Dr. Edgar Mitchell and I had several intimate conversations that few have I’m sure. Jose and Lloydine Arguelles were delightful, having some quality time with them while officing out of Village Labs was amazing for sure. I’d been able to ask direct questions, share experiences and corroborate understanding I sorely needed. That year was phenomena-ful for me.

Things got more intense as the years went on yet I always seemed to be able to manage bridging personal and professional worlds, with a little flair at times. I had a lot of fun playing in the background and spent a considerable amount of time behind the curtain, so to speak. I watched as people changed and morphed, not physically per se, but ethically and morally and some things just didn’t make sense.

As it got more in vogue to share stories, I’ve seen more posers come out of the woodwork than I care to admit. I’ve always questioned my own experience. Heck, I’m even okay with others questioning it, too. Over the last decade I’ve observed some good people with similar experience get set aside while more conspiracy theories crop up to keep the cauldron of fear nice and warm. It seems the effort to evolve is rife with dissenters and doom spreaders.

I’m reminded of the crop circle from August of 2002 that delivered a very interesting message, et-disc-binarywarning of the deceit and deception to come. As some valiant humans seek to evolve toward a greater consciousness, assisted by some very interested off-planet parties, the squeaking wheels still get the grease. It seems the scene has turned a profit lately and we certainly wouldn’t want to screw that up.

There are some voices of reason that appear here and there, looking for deeper truths and making sense common. Their words resound in the hearts and minds of those who have similar designs with their inquiry – to understand the nature and truth of the interaction of non-human intelligence across the apparent dimensional doorways accessible only to those who remain faithful and fearless. That place within is available for anyone to choose. We’re still invited to go there.
